Madeira Golf Destination Guide:

The Madeira Island Open is Included in Madeira’s golf tournament programme, and is part of the PGA European Tour. It is the most important golf tournament held annually in Spring in the region.

Currently, Madeira has all the facilities to welcome golfers of every handicap, including prime quality accommodation, which makes the islands a paradise for the lovers of the sport who will not fail to delight in the challenge of each hole and the surrounding scenery.

Boasting golf courses with qualities acclaimed by golfers who have been choosing to play in Madeira for many years, in 2019, the Madeira archipelago was deemed the Best Emerging Golf Destination by the World Golf Awards.

Local festivals, which take place all year round, are opportunities to appreciate traditional gastronomic flavours and see Madeira partying, especially for the Carnival parades, the Flower Festival, the Atlantic Festival and, above all, the end-of-year fireworks display.

The Madeira Wine Festival is held in early September, when the grape harvest begins all over the island. In addition to your rounds of golf do not miss a visit to the city of Funchal.
